Zooey Deschanel's performance in the big screen continues to rise on some of genres, not just a drama or a comedy, but also a thriller. This 'The Apartment' film admirer was selected some films, played by her on based on the selection of role characters to be played in the film. In choosing role characters, Zooey does not want to just into the one role that has a similar character. Zooey trying to get every character she played in a film can also provide a challenge to her.
Zooey has never made her profession as an actress, or use it as a platform to make money. This is why she was not too prominent in most feature films which incidentally has the advantage of a very large production. This actress who was still in his 20s in 2009 has a philosophy about life that what we do in this world should be based on the passion of the most preferred, as quoted in an interview with her following,
"You have to keep reminding yourself it's not about money, Because there is a lot of money to be made in this business if you're willing to do whatever, "
This philosophy is in line with some of the characters played by her in several films such as
- Yes Man (2008),
- Flakes (2007), and

Music
It appears from a strong interest in music Zooey Deschanel has great influence in the selection of the role played in several films. Among them is a musical film 'Once Upon a Mattress' in which Zooey has the opportunity to donate her low-voice character in a song called 'A Little While and Normandy'. Zooey movie that starred along with Jim Carrey, 'Yes Man' (2008) also gave an opportunity for her to sing a few songs that became the soundtrack of the film.
A drama film "Winter Passing" (2005) did not present a beautiful voice of Zooey Deschanel in a stage performance. But in the early minutes of the film, as Reese Holdin (the character played by Zooey Deschanel) is attending an audition for the play of herself, she was asked to sing a song and in the scene, Zooey was singing a song called 'My Bonnie Lies over the Ocean '. In addition, original work Zooey Deschanel which were semi-classical genre, has played in the film. The song is an instrumental arrangement of Zooey that lasted about a minute it had been given the title 'Bittersuite' by her.

Usually she just stood in front of her microphone and occasionally looking towards other members. Despite so Zooey Deschanel always sing the song with earnest, it is seen from Zooey facial expressions which always appreciate when singing the song that brings.
